Typical Properties of 40 Durometer Medium Strength Grade Silicone

Description: 40 durometer medium strength silicone gasket material designed to be used in applications where high physical properties need to be met. Consider 40 durometer medium strength silicone as an alternative to our high strength silicone (AG40HS) in demanding gasket applications that require extra tensile strength and tear resistance. 40 durometer medium strength silicone provides users with extreme low and high-temperature resistance, with an operating temperature of -80 °F to +450 °F. This material offers excellent UV and ozone resistance and takes a low compression set. 40 durometer medium strength silicone is a non-toxic and chemically inert material produced from FDA approved ingredients. 40 durometer medium strength silicone is a peroxide free and platinum cured material. Due to being peroxide free, the material is non-blooming.

M&P Sealing’s medium strength grade silicone gasket material is available in a wide range of durometers, ranging from as soft as 40 Durometer to as hard as 60 Durometer. The standard colors of our medium grade silicone are red and grey. 40 durometer medium strength silicone can be produced in rolls ranging from as narrow as 1/4″ wide, up to 36″ in width. M&P Sealing can supply 40 durometer medium strength silicone without adhesive or choose from either our standard acrylic adhesive or our high-temperature acrylic adhesive. 40 durometer medium strength silicone can be manufactured to a wide range of standard and custom thicknesses. M&P Sealing has the ability to fabricate 40 durometer medium strength silicone by die-cutting or waterjet cutting to meet your requirements and can provide support from the design stage through the production phase.
